Getting Ready for Winter Slumber
Its been a long hot summer in Italy, followed by an equally warm and dry Autumn. The vineyard is only now starting to look like it is getting ready for its winter slumber. All the leaves are yellow and red and once we have our first frost they will all drop and we will be left with bare vines. The changing seasons are no more apparent than in a vineyard, where there is a steady beat building up to harvest and then a deep sigh as it drops off to its brief winter slumber.
